Quick and effective resuscitation in the trauma patient is pivotal to obtaining positive clinical outcomes. This session will increase a nurse practitioner’s confidence when making rapid decisions regarding the start or delay of fluid resuscitation in patients with massive injury. In this course, concerns regarding damage control resuscitation are addressed in conjunction with the history of trauma care and newer advancements in the field.
The parameters involved with optimal end points of resuscitation as well as the risks of blood transfusion therapy are discussed in detail.
