An NP is not just a nurse or provider but a major presence in the health care field. This empowering presentation will enable acute care NPs to recognize and own the unique importance of their role in patient care. The session begins by defining powerful practice, then delves into the history and unique features of the NP role. The best practices for professional and ethical conduct are then discussed, from synergy and persistence to the NP’s commitment to continuous learning. The presentation closes with a discussion of nurse professional advisory committees (NPACs) and the ways in which NPACs can serve as drivers for the future of the medical profession.

Throughout, the session offers NP-specific guidance on developing grit, confidence, and strong habits of mind. This one-of-a-kind session will coach the participant on the following topics:

  • Effective professional behavior, character, and presence
  • Using the NP role to influence decision making and resource allocation
  • Taking pride in the NP role

How It Works

  1. Log in at www.NPcourses.com
  2. Go to My Account in the upper right corner and click on Courses.
  3. Locate your Course in the list and click on it.
  4. Click on Access Course to proceed.
  5. PowerPoint handouts are available for every lecture under “Materials.” We strongly recommend that you download and print each lecture’s handout so that you may highlight and take notes as you view each video.
  6. Please note that there is information covered in the video lectures that will not be on the handouts, so you must watch the video in its entirety. It is very important to spend time studying all PowerPoint handouts and to watch all course lecture(s) before attempting to take the required quiz.
  7. Each quiz includes 5 items to complete in 10 minutes. Participants have a maximum of 3 attempts to pass each exam with a score of 70% or higher.
  8. After successful completion of the quiz, participants must complete a Course Evaluation.
  9. Upon submission of the Course Evaluation, your Continuing Education Certificate will appear for you to print and/or save in PDF format. We strongly recommend that you print or save the certificate immediately, as your certificate will not be stored in your account indefinitely.

Refunds are not allowed on any of Barkley & Associates’ products.
