Begin your career as a Family Nurse Practitioner with this essential 4-course toolkit. Each course in The New NP Starter Pack for Family NP bundle addresses areas every nurse practitioner encounters early in their careers and teaches practical skills that can be applied on day one and beyond. Gain insight into resume creation and interviewing, learn the basics of billing, discover the nuances of caring for LGBTQ patients, and discover the ins-and-outs of prescribing antibiotics.

Description of each course:

Transitioning from NP Student to Practicing NP in Primary Care : A comprehensive presentation designed to support nurse practitioners (NPs) as they shift from student to primary care nurse practitioner, offering practical mentorship on critical aspects as they enter clinical practice. This presentation covers everything from resume and interview guidance to contract negotiations and certification exam preparation. Upon completion of this lecture, new NPs will be able to seamlessly step into the practical world of primary care.

NP Billing Basics: What You Need to Know in Primary Care : Explore one of the most critical behind-the-scenes tools for nurse practitioners: billing fundamentals. A solid understanding of billing is a key foundation for any healthcare provider. This course covers the essential differences between new and established patient encounters, CPT and ICD-10 coding, and best practices for “incident-to” billing. By mastering these concepts, attendees will strengthen their skills and be set up for success in every aspect of their healthcare career.

Antibiotic Basics for the Primary Care NP : Antibiotics are powerful tools for preventing and controlling infections. Knowing when and how to administer these agents is crucial for a nurse practitioner’s clinical practice. This CE offering reviews the general principles for prescribing antibiotic medications along with appropriate patient education before moving into detailed descriptions of bacterial classifications.

Introduction to Caring for LGBTQ Patients with Cultural Humility : Let this CE offering guide you in making your practice a welcoming and affirming space for every patient. LGBTQ patients frequently face stigma and unethical treatment that impacts their health. This engaging presentation provides a sensitive and nuanced discussion of these health disparities, then offers actionable tips for developing cultural humility and creating an all-inclusive office environment. In addition to the CE content, an extensive network of resources is provided so that you can continue to develop informed, compassionate care strategies for all your patients.
