Differential Diagnosis Across the Life Span: Differential Diagnosis of Common Pediatric Cardiovascular Disorders

This detailed, engaging course is designed for the NP who wants to take their differential diagnosis skills to the next level when considering common pediatric cardiovascular disorders. The course begins with a review of cardiovascular hemodynamics and auscultation of heart sounds. Next, the session dives into distinguishing findings of various congenital heart defects. Lastly, acquired pediatric cardiovascular disorders are discussed in depth. This CE offering is supplemented by real-world case studies and rigorous multiple-choice questions with thorough explanations of the correct answers.

This presentation includes detailed information on the following topics:

  • Arrhythmias and innocent murmurs
  • Pediatric hypertension, chest pain, and syncope
  • Rheumatic fever and Kawasaki disease
  • Myocarditis and pericarditis

How It Works

  1. Log in at www.NPcourses.com
  2. Go to My Account in the upper right corner and click on Courses.
  3. Locate your Course in the list and click on it.
  4. Click on Access Course to proceed.
  5. PowerPoint handouts are available for every lecture under “Materials.” We strongly recommend that you download and print each lecture’s handout so that you may highlight and take notes as you view each video.
  6. Please note that there is information covered in the video lectures that will not be on the handouts, so you must watch the video in its entirety. It is very important to spend time studying all PowerPoint handouts and to watch all course lecture(s) before attempting to take the required quiz.
  7. Each quiz includes 5 items to complete in 10 minutes. Participants have a maximum of 3 attempts to pass each exam with a score of 70% or higher.
  8. After successful completion of the quiz, participants must complete a Course Evaluation.
  9. Upon submission of the Course Evaluation, your Continuing Education Certificate will appear for you to print and/or save in PDF format. We strongly recommend that you print or save the certificate immediately, as your certificate will not be stored in your account indefinitely.
