Kristen Vandenberg, DNP, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC


Kristen (Kris) Vandenberg, DNP, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC is an adjunct faculty member at the Catholic University of America School of Nursing. Dr. Vandenberg has a background in both family practice and psychiatric nursing.


She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Virginia and her Master’s of Science in Nursing Education from Mercer University. Dr. Vandenberg went on to receive her post-Master's as a FNP/PMHNP and DNP at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center.


Dr. Vandenberg has practiced in a variety of integrated care settings and currently practices as a PMNP in a rural mental health clinic. She has taught a variety of courses at the doctorate, graduate, and undergraduate levels that include didactic, clinical, and online instruction. Dr. Vandenberg is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the American Psychiatric Nurse's Association (APNA). Her research interests include integrative care and non-suicidal self-injury across the lifespan.
