Charlie Schreiner, MHA, MS, APRN, ACNP-BC, CRNFA, is currently the lead acute care nurse practitioner in the Thyroid & Parathyroid Institute at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, Florida. In this role, Charlie cares for perioperative thyroid surgical patients from their pre-operative ultrasound, to first-assisting during their surgeries, to post-operative evaluations, and finally to discharging.
Prior to moving to Florida in 2017, Charlie held the position of Director of Head & Neck Survivorship Programs at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. During that time, he was also an adjunct professor at Texas Woman’s University in the Adult/Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program. Charlie has been nationally recognized by the Oncology Nursing Society as the 2016 recipient of the Excellence in Survivor Advocacy Award and locally as the 2014 recipient of the Excellence in Advance Practice Nursing Award from the MD Anderson Cancer Center.
