Bryan Combs, PhD, CRNP, FNP-BC, CNL, ATC, has been a nurse practitioner since 2012 and has been educating future nurse practitioners for the last 7 years. Throughout his time in nursing, he has worked in primary and urgent care settings, as well as orthopedic surgery at a Level I trauma center.
Dr. Combs first earned a bachelor’s degree at the University in Kentucky in 2002 and a master’s degree in 2004 from Louisiana State University. In 2010, Dr. Combs earned an MSN as a clinical nurse leader, and in 2012 he earned an MSN as a family nurse practitioner. In 2019, he completed his PhD with a concentration in occupational health, researching musculoskeletal disorders of the shoulder in commercial truck drivers.
Dr. Combs has been a faculty member at the University of Alabama at Birmingham since 2013 and currently serves as the Director of Nurse Practitioner Pathways.
