Sepsis Across the Acute Care Spectrum: Are You Up-to-Date?

Patients who develop sepsis continue to have high morbidity and mortality. As such, early recognition and intervention is paramount to improving patient outcomes. During this session, the underlying pathophysiology of sepsis will be reviewed to better recognize expected early signs and symptoms. The latest, new definitions within the context of sepsis will be discussed, including how these better reflect patient presentations. In addition, fluid management, antimicrobials, vasopressors, and monitoring options will be explored to allow the practitioner to formulate a most up-to-date, evidence-based plan of care.
