Update: Top Pediatric
Prescriptions How to Use Them Safely
In this talk, the top prescribed pediatric medications will be discussed. Of the top twenty drugs prescribed, most of them fall into three classifications: Anti-infectives, drugs for asthma/allergy, and drugs for minor pain and fever relief. Each of these classifications will be discussed, as will specific drugs, with respect to safe use, side effects, and contraindications. New agents and new black box warnings will be presented. This comprehensive continuing education blitz focuses on updating pharmacology knowledge in clinical practice. Sessions explore evidence based outcomes and recent trends involving pharmacotherapeutic choices and diagnostic decision-making.
