  • The focus of this session will be challenging case studies in adult trauma care, specifically highlighting the multidisciplinary care required of the acutely injured. Topics for discussion include management of patients with solid abdominal organ injury, patients with retained hemothorax following blunt chest injury, management of patients with blunt cerebrovascular injury, among others.

  • Designed for both intensivists and non-intensivists, this boot camp will provide practitioners the ability to understand the “how, why, and what else” of mechanical ventilation.

    Select patients, such as those with underlying obstructive or restrictive lung disease, complicate ventilator regulation. Identification and management of various mechanical ventilation clinical challenges such as these will be covered to enhance the practitioner’s decision-making ability in ventilator management.

  • Most NPs have a basic understanding of x-ray interpretation, but many question the “why and how” of radiology, especially with more complicated patient films. This two-part session takes the participant from a basic understanding of the shades of black and white on an x-ray film to the ability to identify pneumonia, CHF, cardiomegaly, bowel obstruction, spine injuries, Salter Harris fractures, and much more.
